[edit] Digital Photography Explained
A type of photography in which images can be viewed on a computer screen. www.stjude.org/glossary Taking pictures with a digital imaging device and storing and printing them on digital devices. The "digital film," which is comprised of flash memory modules, floppy disks or CD-Rs, can be transferred to a local computer for printing, or can be uploaded to a Web site for viewing and printing. www.bradycommunications.com/perspectives/glossary.aspx
Digital photography, as opposed to film photography, uses an electronic sensor to record the image as a piece of electronic data rather than as chemical changes on film. Digital cameras now (2005) outsell film cameras, and include features not found in film cameras such as the ability to shoot video and record audio. Some other devices, such as mobile phones, now include digital photography features.

Some of the most popular brands are Nikon Canon Sony Pentax Hasselblad and Olympus ranging from 0.5 megapixels to 50 megapixels and at least one custom job that is over 100 megapixels. I personally take photos with a 10.3 megapixel camera and use PTGui to stitch several photos together to produce up to 80 megapixel panoramas. The best editing softwares include Adobe Photoshop , Paintshop Pro , Apperture for Mac. As an avid PC and Mac head I prefer the Mac running parallels which allows me to run WinXP Pro on the OSX (Tiger and Leopard ) desktop. If you would like to see some panoramas please email me at hartrick @ hotmail dot com.
