Gretzky is plugging a new, battery-warmed skate blade

contend — more speed with less work and overall, a better hockey experience. Hey, is it too late for the Leafs to place an order? The Thermablade inventor, Calgarian Tory Weber, says the steamy steel is not a novelty item, like Cooperalls, nasal strips or pyramid power. The 43-year-old, who spent more than $5 million over five years to bring his idea to market, believes the “fairly simple physics” behind theelectronic blade will revolutionize hockey for competitive players.

MAD HOCKEY - Boxers on Ice
Watch videos of classic fights.
Nope. This is not your WBC or WBA championship. These are video
clips we found on YouTube containing some of your favorite
hockey pucks duke it out on the ice. (Well, can't we all just
get along?) You better watch out for the zamboni!

During a February 21, 2000 Vancouver-Boston game, when Brashear played for Vancouver, Marty McSorley struck Brashear in the side of his head with his stick. Brashear fell to the ice, his head bounced, and his unsecured helmet flew off. Brashear suffered from a grade 3 concussion and memory lapses. He returned to play after several weeks and has fully recovered.
Brashear testified he has no memory of what happened. Marty McSorley was found guilty of assault with a weapon but wasn't sent to jail. He had to complete 18 months of probation, in which he could not play against Brashear. McSorley claims that he tried to hit Brashear in the shoulder to start a fight with him and didn't mean to hit his head.
For about a year, Donald Brashear was in the news and the
incident with McSorely, sorely brought to the spotlight the very
physical game of North American professional hockey. In Dec
2001, the Vancouver traded Brashear to Philadelphia on December 17, 2001 for Jan Hlavac. In 2002-03,
Brashear was awarded the Pelle Lindbergh Memorial, an annual trophy given to the Flyers most improved player.
In Philly, he played a role in starting a brawl in a game between the Flyers and Ottawa Senators in 2004 which in the end was the most penalized game in history, with Brashear getting the most penalty minutes.
